Children’s Ministry in Moldova Division

There are only a few days left, before all the students and schoolchildren get back to their schools and colleges. Moldova Division provides some necessary school supplies for the new school year coming. This type of support is available at the Salvation Army Corps in Moldova.

Summer is about to finish, and children’s hearts are overwhelmed with joy and delight because they have attended children’s holiday camps organized by Moldova Division. Children gained some vivid impressions and new knowledge at these camps. Children in holiday camps 24/7 were immersed in an atmosphere of peace and friendship. They sang, danced, participated in quizzes with prizes, received some spiritual knowledge for the right path in life and the right choice, as the Lord teaches us.

Moldova Division, from August 21st to August 26th, conducted Christian Day Camp called “Climb the Mountain”. It was a fantastic opportunity for children 7-13 years old to start their journey through the pages of the Bible, with games, crafts and delicious treats.

Ciocana Corps held an interesting daytime thematic camp from August 8th -12th. On August 8th, the camp started with the theme: “How to talk with God”. There were many different activities available for children, such as dancing, playground activities, and the most importantly, they learned to talk to God by a means of prayer: “Pray continually” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

At these camps, children were taught how to express their love to the others: parents, grandparents, friends, classmates, by studying the key verse: “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God” (1 John 4:7).

The other verse from Bible that was taught to the children was about the danger of gossip: “Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips” (Psalm 141:3).

“How to get answers to our prayers from God” – was also one of the fascinating questions raised during these camps. This is reflected in John 10:27: “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me”.

Moldova Division has a very strong scouting movement as well. All the local scouts gathered at Divisional Scout Camp, which was held from July 23rd to July 25th in the picturesque place called “Braniste”. All the local scouts, who attended the camp, had an opportunity to participate in various quests. They learned in practice how to set up tents, navigated the terrain, thereby consolidating their theoretical knowledge, and overcame an obstacle course. In addition, the Scouts have learned how to cook all the food themselves on the open fire. We thank God for 14 new scouts from Moldova and Ukraine.

The camp ended with a campaign of faith in Old Orhei. The organizers of the scout camp were approached with the same simple question – “when and where the next camp will take place?”.

Moldova Division also organized an interesting thematic camp called “Codul de access” (“Access Code”). 100 participants from 8 to 13 years old were able to spend an unforgettable five days of relaxation. Remarkably, 13 attendees were guests from Ukraine, who began attending local Corps in Moldova.

The group of mentors did everything what was possible so that the children could rest, sunbathe, play a lot, sing, be creative and hear the Gospel.

We are thankful to God that 10 children in the camp accepted Jesus into their hearts! Let this time remain good moments in the hearts of these children! We believe that God’s word, sown in these little hearts, will bring wonderful fruit for the Lord Christ!

Children’s Camps are only one part of the multifaceted Children’s Ministry in Moldova Division. Throughout the year, exciting programs and activities for children are held in all Corps of the Salvation Army in Moldova, such as sports competitions, creative lessons, where children can display their inner world.

Educational programs on healthy eating are also available with practical culinary masterclasses. The mentioned above classes are held with extraordinary enthusiasm, where attendees do not only learn how to cook, but also try the food they cooked. Children taught that simple food products can be used to make tasty and healthy meals. Moreover, they also learn that food should be prepared with love.

The childhood should be happy. The Salvationists in Moldova Division minister to the children with faith and devotion, as part of their multifaceted Children’s Ministry.

May God bless Salvationists in Moldova Division in their Ministry to the children.
